Florence 'Firenze'

Jayson, Gwen, and I took a weekend trip to Florence or as they call it Firenze and then to Siena. We stayed in a little family owned hotel called Hotel Desiree. The rooms weren't that bad. The only problem that we had was our bed was two twin beds pushed together. Poor Gwen was sleeping in the 'crack' the whole night. We did have a cool elevator that we had to use in order to get to our hotel which was on the 2nd floor, but really 3rd floor. The Italians consider the first floor as floor '0'.
Florence itself is a huge city. Jayson and I weren't too thrilled with it. It did have a lot of great history to offer but the city itself seemed really dirty to us. There was so much graffitti we felt it ruined the beauty of the buildings and streets.
While walking the streets we were told to be very careful of pick-pocketers. And wouldn't you know it, Jayson caught a group of three guys pinpointing us to get. Apparently they wanted the camera that was wrapped around my wrist twice. Once Jayson caught on he stopped me and took the camera and put it in his pocket. They circled us one last time and noticed it was gone and left us alone from there. Interesting I would have to say. At least Jayson was watching what was going on. I was too busy taking pictures, being a tourist, and well a good canidate to take down.
