Day 4

This is what we woke up to! LOVE IT!! After enjoying it for a bit we had to pack up and hopefully get out of there in one piece. Luckily, the roads were clear after a few miles on the freeway. Whew! Not sure how pulling a trailor in the snow was going to work. Overall, it was a great long weekend that we all needed very much. It was also great being able to spend it with family. I know I keep complaining about living in the desert, but the best thing about living here is being so close to family. Most of Jayson's family is just 3 hours away and my family lives just another hour and half. We are never going to live this close to them while being in the Air Force, so we are trying to see them as much as we can now! Our family means the world to us!

Day 3

Saturday, still alive! Whew! We took a day trip to see Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument. Yes, 2 of the 4 National Parks Gwen has been to in her short life so far. Both of these places were very beautiful. I especially loved what Flagstaff looked like. I had no clue that pine trees actually existed in Arizona. On our way home it started snowing! Yes, snowing! What a great way to start off the Christmas season! Jayson and I sure do miss the snow. I know we're crazy, but this desert thing is just not us.

Day 2

Thanksgiving Trip Day 2- Grand Canyon
Friday... well we are still alive and the trailor hasn't rolled away. Jayson must have some kind of idea on what he is doing with this thing! Ha
The entire family boarded the Grand Canyon Railway from Williams, Az to the Grand Canyon! It was a 2 hour train ride there and back with a few hours of sightseeing at the Grand Canyon. While on the train we had some great entertainment. Some guy sang some of Johnny Cash's songs, we had some cowboys on horses 'rob' the train, and a lady played the accordian and sang Gwen's favorite song- If You Are Happy And You Know It!
The Grand Canyon was a sight to see. It sure is grand! Next time I would love to do a bit of hiking while there. This time we didn't have much time to do that.

Thanksgiving Trip (Day 1)

For Thanksgiving this year we went on a camping trip to Williams, Az with Jayson's family. We had a total of four trailers in our group. It was actually a lot of fun going with people who knew what they heck they were doing. We on the other hand still need a bit more learning to do. We arrived in Williams on Wednesday. It was freezing, but we loved every minute of it! On Thursday, we hung out with everyone and watched how many people it would take to fry up a turkey. hmmm too many!

11 months old

One more month and our baby girl will be ONE!! I still can't believe this time last year I was big, fat, and just ready to have her. Gwen has been such a blessing in our lives. Everyday is a new, challenging, and wonderful experience with her.

Her accomplishments thus far are:
no more baby food
I hope is looking forward to the transition to whole milk
loves to clap
waves to herself when trying to wave to someone
crawls like a champ
starting to stand for a few seconds on her own
enjoys throwing everything out of her crib to watch it fall
just discovered how to climb a few stairs
enjoys going to the park to swing and slide down the slide with help
loves to splash in Magnum's water dish
puts anything and everything in her mouth
still only has 8 teeth
has a shoe feddish like her mom
loves to shop
figured out how to snort
has been to 4 national parks and 3 countries (okay one while in my belly, but that counts)
love music, books, and some tv

Magical Forest

Last night Gwen and I went to the Magical Forest. It was a chilly night so it felt just right to be enjoying the Christmas decorations even though Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet. Gwen also got to meet Santa for the first time and as you can see she was not to thrilled with the jolly old man. Poor thing! Anyone with a big beard she is terrified of and now I have proof.
