Jayson's Homecoming
Last Saturday, April 21st Jayson arrived home along with 300 other Iowa Air National Guardsmen and women. And like military standard they were delayed a lot that day. He was originally suppose to be home around 7pm, but ended up getting home around 11pm. By the time he got off the airplane, went through the in process line, finally was able to say hello to us, and then retrieved his bags, it was 1:30am. Both girls did amazingly well. Gwen was so excited that daddy was home I was a bit nervous she might not go to sleep that night. As for Addison, I have no clue why she stayed awake the entire time, but she did. And with our luck she decided to wake us up at 6:30 am. So needless to say, the next day was a day of naps!

Update on our "big girl"
She is getting bigger every day. She is very articulate when she speaks. A couple weeks ago we were watching a movie and she got up and said,"hey mom want to see my awesome jump?" I have no clue where she heard the word awesome, but she uses it all the time now. It's actually really cute.
She is taking swim lessons once a week, loves the water but hates to wait her turn to do a skill. She is one busy little girl. She hates sitting still for any length of time.
She is also doing gymnastics one day a week. She absolutely loves it! Like swimming, waiting patiently and listening to directions is one of her downfalls but we are working on it everyday. She was pretty upset last week when she didn't get stamps after gym because she wasn't listening very well. This week was much better and she was so excited to show Jayson and I that she got her stamps.
As if those two activities are not enough for her she also goes to preschool one day a week for a couple of hours. I just love listening to her tell me all about her day when she gets into the car. Her little brain is trying to soak up so much information. She's looking forward to going to preschool more next year.
She still loves reading books, any art activity, jumping on her trampoline, and playing pretend with her stuffed animals.
We love you baby girl and can't wait to see what new things you will discover, accomplish, and love to do.
7 months already
Our little Addison turned 7 months old on the 13th of April. Okay I know I am way behind, but we just got a new computer.
Addison is still our little chunky monkey. We love it so much! She has been doing really well with baby food. We are still waiting for her little toofers to appear. Poor thing is chewing on everything, and drools all over. She goes through at least 2 outfits a day because of this.
She is rolling over from her tummy to her back all the time now. I don't think it will be much longer until she starts to crawl. She gets up on her hands and moves her legs, but doesn't go anywhere. She get so frustrated. It's cute though.
She loves to hear her voice.... okay she loves to hear herself scream!!! Oh my, not one of my favorites. We are getting to more of a babble now. I need to start signing with her so we can communicate a bit better.
She loves to smile, but to get her to actually laugh is pretty tough. She is one serious little girl, especially when you take pictures of her (hmm like another little person I know)
She can now sit up on her own with no additional support. The exersaucer and jumperoo are still a big hit. We just introduced her to her walker the other day. She goes backwards in it like Gwen did.
She loves her big sister so much. She smiles at her all the time, watches her intently on whatever activity she is doing, and loves to grab and pull her hair out. (Gwens not a big fan of that though)
I would have to say this is our favorite baby stage. Jayson and I love that she can hold her own bottle, sit and play without moving, we get to see more of her personality, and well we just love this little girl and her big sister soooooo much!

Kansas City Zoo
After our bowling adventure we grabbed a quick lunch and then headed off to the Kansas City Zoo for the rest of the day. Now nothing compares to the San Diego Zoo, but this one is by far better than the Des Moines Zoo. We were there for 4 hours and still didn't get to see everything. Not like the Des Monies Zoo that can take you 30 min to get through the entire thing.
The day was a bit chilly, but the kids had a blast anyways.

bowling anyone?
Over Easter weekend the girls and I drove down to Kansas to stay with a friend of mine and her family. They are currently stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, which is about 3 hrs from us. We had quite the busy schedule that weekend. Saturday morning we took the kids bowling. It was Gwens first time and she LOVED it. This is one activity Jayson has really no interest in. I love it and now I have a partner to do it with. hurray!
