This past Saturday a local church put on their 2nd annual Easter Egg Drop for the community. Since Gwen was too small last year to go, we decided to try it this year. We tried it and will NEVER do it again. Holy cow were there a lot of people! That wasn't the bad thing.
They had it organized by age group, which I thought was great. Gwen was only going to be egg hunting with children ages 1-3. On the toddler field they had marked off in 6 different sections. Four of the sections were for kiddos that were going to egg hunt by themselves and the other two were for those that needed help with their parents. Made since right?? We decided that Gwen was big enough to do it on her own and that we were not far away from her so she wouldn't get scared. Once the helicopter dropped the eggs, it was crazy from there. There were a handful of kids that were ready to egg hunt on their own along with Gwen when all of a sudden all these parents came running out on the field with them. That scared Jayson and I, so I made Jayson get out there with her. She had been pushed, walked on, and well it was just not fun. Poor thing. She was able to get at least 5 eggs. The eggs were empty, but you were to fill them at designated areas with candy. We decided to take them home and fill them with m&m's for her. She wasn't opposed to that. Whew!
Hanging out with mommy watching them organized all the pretty eggs
Jayson's grandparents were in town to join in the fun
